Why beer?
Yes, I’m a huge fan of what’s in the glass, but it’s always been about the community and passion within the industry. It goes beyond beer.

Meet Rachel
When I’m interested in something, you’ll hear about it.
For nearly a decade, I’ve had a deep interest and passion for beer. Not just the beverage, but the people, places, and community around it.
I started my career in insurance, which was thrilling, but it did introduce me to my friend and coworker who first taught me how to homebrew.
I then left the corporate world to work in tech, where my passion for beer continued to grow. I graduated from Beer School, received my Level 1 Cicerone certification and became the Regional Editor for PorchDrinking.
I spent time at Lyft, leading marketing for Divvy bike and scooters. I translated national brand campaigns to a local level, produced an activation at Lollapalooza, and launched a global scooter campaign — all within five short months.
In late 2022, tech layoffs hit, and my role was impacted. Instead of doom-scrolling LinkedIn or getting discouraged, I came back to beer.
In March 2023, Beer Adjacent was born.
Since its inception, I’ve worked with Revolution Brewing, Maplewood Brewery & Distillery, Metropolitan Brewing, Ravinia Brewing Company, and Midwest Coast Brewing. I launched the Brewer’s Triangle with an old-school Block Party and collaboration brew.
I’ve had the opportunity to interview a brewer in Porto, Portugal (where I lived last October), and a cider maker in Normandy, France. I love to podcast with friends across the industry, hop on WLS-AM every other week to chat craft beer news, and recently had my TV debut.
Outside of beer, you can find me teaching fitness classes at Zen Yoga Garage and pop-up events around the city, dog sitting for old, (often misunderstood) pups, producing stunning weddings and events for Estera Events, Aragon Artists, and The Creative Planners, cooking and baking through NYT Cooking recipes, and tracking flights to Portugal.
